In October 2024, significant developments in Dehradun’s construction landscape include the nearing completion of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. This ambitious project, which is a part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, aims to enhance connectivity between Delhi and Dehradun, significantly reducing travel time from five hours to just two and a half hours. Currently, about 90-95% of the first phase, stretching 31.6 km from Akshardham in Delhi to Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, is complete, with remaining work focusing on infrastructure enhancements like signage and expansion joints. The expressway’s first section is anticipated to open partially by October 2024.
Additionally, local projects are ongoing, including residential and commercial complexes to cater to the growing population and tourism in the region. As Dehradun evolves into a more accessible hub, these projects underscore the city’s commitment to modern infrastructure development
