Colt Data Centre Services (Colt DCS) and RMZ have commenced construction of Mumbai 3, a 64 MW AI-ready data centre at their Navi Mumbai campus, marking a significant step in strengthening India’s digital infrastructure.
The project is being developed through the companies’ joint venture, which has outlined plans to invest USD 1.7 billion in India. Ground preparation for the facility began in December 2025, while construction started after the signing of its first hyperscale customer. The entire 64 MW capacity has already been pre-let, highlighting strong demand for large-scale data centre infrastructure.
Mumbai 3 will complement the existing Mumbai 1 and Mumbai 2 facilities at the Navi Mumbai campus. Once completed, the campus is expected to achieve an operational capacity of 86 MW, with further development potential to expand capacity to 148 MW.
Designed to support high-density computing and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads, the new facility will incorporate advanced cooling technologies. These will combine conventional air cooling with direct liquid-to-chip cooling to address the thermal requirements of demanding computing environments.
The development comes amid growing demand for AI infrastructure, cloud computing and hyperscale data centre capacity in India. The project is expected to strengthen Navi Mumbai’s position as an important data centre hub while supporting the country’s expanding digital economy.
