The Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh has announced bids for the restoration of the Ken Main Canal, a significant part of the Ken-Betwa Link Project.
The restoration involves two key sections: from km 0.000 to 31.600 under the Ken Canal System, budgeted at ₹188.52 crore, and from km 31.600 to 59.338 under the Ken-Betwa Link Project, with an allocation of ₹167.33 crore.
The scope of work includes excavation, earthwork in embankments, cement concrete and RCC works, PVC water sealing, cement concrete canal lining, and other related activities. Both projects are scheduled to be completed within 36 months of contract commencement.
Interested parties must submit their bids by 12 February 2025, adhering to the specified guidelines. This initiative forms a crucial part of the ambitious Ken-Betwa interlinking project, aimed at enhancing water resource management and boosting agricultural productivity in the region.
The restoration project is expected to significantly improve irrigation infrastructure, benefiting farmers and local communities by ensuring a reliable water supply for agricultural activities.
