Ashoka Buildcon to Invest ₹9,000 Crore in Green Hydrogen Plant in Bihar

Date:

Ashoka Buildcon, a Maharashtra-based infrastructure company, has announced an ambitious investment of ₹9,000 crore in Bihar to establish a green hydrogen plant. The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government during the Bihar Business Connect 2024.

The project will be executed in two phases, with the first phase located in Begusarai. It will include a 1,250 MW solar power project, which will generate clean electricity to fuel the plant’s operations. The facility will produce green hydrogen by splitting water using renewable energy. The first phase is expected to be completed within 1.5 to two years after obtaining all necessary clearances, with the second phase commencing subsequently.

This initiative highlights Ashoka Buildcon’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Known for its expertise in highway construction, power distribution, and solar projects, the company is now venturing into green hydrogen production to support India’s energy transition goals.

The green hydrogen plant in Bihar marks a significant step toward reducing the state’s carbon footprint while creating new opportunities in renewable energy. This investment underscores Bihar’s growing appeal as a hub for large-scale industrial and energy projects.
