Rogers-O’Brien Construction (RO) has launched a custom AI assistant named Compass, setting a new benchmark for information access and efficiency in the construction industry. The in-house developed platform enables RO’s 650+ employees to access data quickly and securely, reducing time spent on complex tasks by up to 50 minutes.
Compass integrates seamlessly with internal systems such as Procore, Bridgit Bench, RO’s Playbook, employee directories, and the company’s data lake. It combines enterprise-level security with real-time access to staffing, project, and resource information. Unlike generic chatbots, the assistant is purpose-built to understand RO’s workflows, terminology, and systems—ensuring accurate, context-driven responses.
“Rather than adopting an off-the-shelf solution and hoping it would fit, we built technology tailored specifically to our business,” said Justin McAfee, RO’s President and CEO.
Rogers-O’Brien plans to expand Compass’s capabilities in the coming months, adding deeper integrations and continuous refinements based on user feedback and evolving AI innovations.
