Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) has expanded its zero-emission fleet at Bauma 2025 by introducing two new electric excavators—the ZE225 crawler and ZE150W wheeled models—joining its growing lineup that includes the ZX55U‑6EB and ZX85‑6EB battery-powered units.
The ZE225 crawler, a mid-sized electric excavator, is the first of its kind in Hitachi’s fleet. Designed for emission-free operations in noise-sensitive sites, it complements the compact and agile ZE150W wheel loader-like excavator—perfect for urban, industrial, and infrastructure works. Both units can operate on battery power or while connected to a 400 V AC supply, ensuring flexibility and minimal downtime .
These additions align with Hitachi’s commitment to zero-emission job sites, offering low noise, reduced operating costs, and less maintenance needs compared to diesel counterparts. Together with its existing battery-powered models (5 t, 8 t, 13 t), HCME now offers a diverse fleet across weight classes, reinforcing its push for urban-friendly infrastructure solutions.
Hitachi is also integrating these machines into its broader LANDCROS concept, which includes digital tools like LANDCROS Connect for multi-brand fleet management—highlighting its pivot to sustainable, tech-enabled heavy equipment.
