Amazon Commits Rs 2,000 Cr to Ramp Up India Ops & Quick Commerce

Seattle‑based Amazon has announced plans to invest $233 million (over ₹2,000 crore) in India during 2025 to significantly expand and upgrade its operations infrastructure. The funds will be channeled into building new fulfillment, sortation, and delivery centers across the country, along with the modernization of existing sites to enhance order processing capacity and delivery speed.

Amazon is also deploying advanced technologies to strengthen its logistics ecosystem. This includes safety features, such as alerts for delivery-person speed and tools to help balance delivery routes, improve route navigation and enable photo-based verification and structured workflows. The investment aims to support the rapid expansion of its “Amazon Now” quick‑commerce offering, helping it better compete in the 10‑minute delivery segment against players like Swiggy, Blinkit, Zepto, and others.

Employee welfare is also a priority: Amazon will enhance rest‑stop amenities, offer free health camps to over 80,000 delivery associates, and launch financial‑wellness programs. This infrastructure and people‑centric push signals Amazon’s deepening commitment to India as it escalates its e‑commerce war..
