From 15 August 2025, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) will launch a ₹3,000 FASTag–based Annual Pass for non‑commercial private vehicles, valid either for one year or up to 200 highway trips, whichever comes first. This scheme builds on the existing FASTag infrastructure users, won’t need a separate sticker, only an eligible FASTag linked to their account.
According to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the pass could reduce toll expenses by as much as 70% compared to regular payments, while greatly cutting waiting time at toll plazas. Activation and renewal will be possible via the Rajmarg Yatra app, along with official NHAI and MoRTH websites.
Targeted at frequent highway commuters, this initiative is expected to ease congestion, eliminate the hassle of frequent top‑ups, and promote smoother, cash‑free journeys. With private vehicles representing over half of highway traffic yet contributing under a quarter of toll revenue, the move signals a shift toward greater convenience and fairness for regular users.
