Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on June 5, 2025, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for 12 industrial projects totaling ₹28,084 crore in Ganjam district, emphasizing logistics and warehouse construction. Held at Onslow Stadium, it underscored the state’s commitment to supply chain infrastructure for southern Odisha.
Projects include advanced logistics parks and modern warehouses. In Gopalpur Industrial Park, mechanized storage units and intermodal freight terminals will support green hydrogen, ammonia, and agro-processing. Tata Steel SEZ will host five ventures with cold storage and dry storage for perishables and industrial inputs.
These projects are expected to generate over 15,455 jobs, boosting employment and streamlining goods movement via Gopalpur Port and upcoming freight corridors. Commerce and Transport Minister Raghunath Tripathy noted that efficient warehouse construction reduces logistics costs and improves market access for MSMEs and large manufacturers. Officials believe that improved logistics and warehouse construction will attract further investments and position Odisha as a competitive manufacturing destination.
Majhi stated that developments align with Viksit Bharat Vision-2047, promoting sustainable construction and multimodal transport integration. With substantial private investment and public–private partnerships anticipated, Ganjam is poised to become a logistics hub, accelerating Odisha’s industrial growth and strengthening national supply chains.
