Mumbai Port Trust has invited bids for the development of the Viksit Bharat Mumbai Marina and integrated waterfront assets, aimed at creating a world-class tourism and recreational destination along Mumbai’s waterfront.
The project is proposed to be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, bringing together private sector participation and port-led infrastructure development. The planned marina will feature a range of tourism, hospitality, recreational and maritime facilities designed to enhance Mumbai’s waterfront experience.
Key components of the proposed development include a tourism complex, an international sailing school, a luxury hotel and other commercial establishments. The project is expected to create opportunities for hospitality and leisure businesses while expanding the city’s maritime tourism infrastructure.
The development will follow the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model. Under this framework, the selected concessionaire will be responsible for designing, constructing, financing and operating the project before transferring it to the designated authority at the end of the concession period.
The concession period will extend for 45 years from the appointed date, providing a long-term framework for project development and operations.
The deadline for submission of bids is December 15, 2026. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to develop Mumbai’s waterfront assets and strengthen the city’s potential as a destination for tourism, leisure and maritime activities.
