NTPC Renewable Energy has successfully completed the full commissioning of its 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project in Gujarat with the commercial launch of the final 105 MW phase.
As per a regulatory filing dated 27 May 2026, the eighth and last phase of the project will officially commence commercial operations on 28 May 2026. With this final addition, the total operational capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Group has increased from 10,516.40 MW to 10,621.40 MW.
The Khavda-II Solar PV Project marks a significant milestone in India’s renewable energy expansion and reinforces NTPC Green Energy’s growing contribution to the nation’s clean energy transition.
Gujarat continues to attract large-scale solar investments due to its high solar potential, extensive land availability, and well-developed infrastructure. The successful completion of the Khavda-II project highlights India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen renewable energy generation and reduce reliance on traditional power sources.
