Zoomlion Expands African Footprint with Broad Machinery Launch at China–Africa Expo

Date:

Zoomlion Heavy Industry unveiled a comprehensive lineup of agricultural and construction machinery customized for African markets at the 4th China–Africa Economic & Trade Expo in Changsha (June 12–15), signaling a significant expansion of its footprint across the continent.

Active in Africa since 2007, Zoomlion has deployed over 10,000 units—including cranes, earthmovers, aerial platforms, and tractors—across major infrastructure projects such as Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, Tanzania’s Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project, Chad’s N’Djamena Stadium, and Senegal–Mauritania’s Rosso Bridge. In Q1 2025, African sales reached 60% of the total for all of 2024, underscoring a rapid sales surge.

Zoomlion has also deepened local operations with subsidiaries in South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Kenya, plus a joint-venture plant and spare-parts centres in Algeria. The workforce has grown to over 300—more than 90 % locally hired—supporting its commitment to regional employment and skills development.

By scaling a full suite of localized sales, technical support, financing, and after-sales services, Zoomlion is strengthening its role in Africa’s construction and agricultural modernization. Its Africa momentum illustrates a long-term, integrated expansion strategy aligned with regional infrastructure and economic growth.
