WAPCOS Ltd., a Government of India undertaking, has invited bids on behalf of the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kerala, for the development of a General Hospital in Trivandrum. The project will be executed on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis.
The proposed hospital infrastructure will include the construction of three major blocks: a main block housing Trauma, Outpatient (OPD), and Inpatient (IPD) services; a laundry block; and a service block. The project is being funded by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), a key state financing institution for large-scale infrastructure.
With an estimated cost of ₹111.49 crore, the hospital development is aimed at enhancing public healthcare infrastructure in the region. The total project duration has been fixed at 27 months from the date of commencement.
Interested bidders must submit their proposals by August 2, 2025. This project is expected to bring significant improvements in emergency and general healthcare access for residents in and around Trivandrum, while also boosting infrastructure development in Kerala’s capital city.
The move reflects the state’s commitment to improving public health facilities with the support of centrally governed agencies and long-term infrastructure funding.
