Union Minister Rao Narbir Singh has called on residents of Gurgaon to play a proactive role in monitoring ongoing infrastructure projects to ensure quality and accountability. Speaking at a recent interaction with locals, the minister stressed that citizen involvement is crucial for transparent and efficient delivery of public works.
Singh noted that while the government is investing heavily in road expansion, drainage systems, and urban facilities, the true test lies in execution. “People should not hesitate to raise concerns if they notice lapses in quality or delays in projects. Timely feedback helps us act against negligence and improve outcomes,” he said.
He added that residents’ vigilance can serve as an additional check alongside official inspections, helping to prevent substandard work and misuse of public funds. With Gurgaon undergoing rapid urban growth, the minister emphasized that infrastructure must meet rising demands without compromising durability or safety.
Urban planners welcomed the minister’s remarks, saying citizen participation can complement government oversight. By encouraging a culture of accountability, experts believe Gurgaon can set an example for other cities where infrastructure development is expanding at a fast pace.
