In a significant move for India’s renewable energy landscape, Suzlon Group and Yanara have announced the extension of their partnership through two major wind energy contracts. Totaling 306 MW, these projects are slated for Yanara’s Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) sites in Barmer, Rajasthan.
Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply and install 102 of its S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each boasting a rated capacity of 3 MW. This deal reinforces Suzlon’s dominant position in Rajasthan, where it already commands a 44% market share and has installed over 2.3 GW of capacity.
The power generated from these projects will play a crucial role in meeting Yanara’s power purchase obligations with national utilities like NTPC and NHPC. This marks the second repeat order from Yanara within a single year, highlighting a deep-seated trust in Suzlon’s technology and execution capabilities.
Yanara is rapidly expanding its portfolio of hybrid renewable projects to support India’s ambitious target of 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030.
“We are advancing the next wave of India’s energy innovation with multi-technology clean energy solutions,” noted a Yanara spokesperson.
As Rajasthan continues to evolve into a global renewable energy hub, this collaboration stands as a testament to the power of strategic partnerships in achieving a sustainable, carbon-neutral future for India.
