In a significant push for development in southern India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for infrastructure and energy projects worth ₹4,900 crore in Tamil Nadu. Speaking at the event, PM Modi emphasized that robust infrastructure and a reliable energy sector form the “backbone of any state’s sustainable growth.”
The projects, spanning sectors such as road transport, renewable energy, and industrial capacity, are aimed at boosting regional connectivity, improving logistics, and creating employment opportunities. “Infrastructure brings investment. Energy powers innovation. Together, they fuel growth and prosperity,” the Prime Minister said, highlighting the Centre’s commitment to accelerating development in Tamil Nadu.
Among the key initiatives launched were a new solar power plant, highway expansion projects, and modernization of logistics hubs in the state. PM Modi also praised Tamil Nadu’s skilled workforce and industrial potential, calling it a gateway to India’s southern economic corridor.
The Prime Minister concluded by reaffirming his government’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” vision, ensuring inclusive development that benefits every region.
