PM Modi Celebrates 11 Years of Infrastructure Revolution Driving India Towards Self-Reliance

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has celebrated what he describes as an “infrastructure revolution” over the past 11 years of the NDA government, saying that outstanding additions to roads, railways, ports and airports have significantly enhanced India’s growth trajectory. He pointed to the construction of modern highways and ropeways, the unlocking of India’s maritime potential, affordable regional air services under the UDAN scheme, and a comprehensive overhaul of the railway network as key drivers of improved “Ease of Living” and economic prosperity. In a follow-up post, Modi emphasized that next-generation infrastructure efforts are underpinned by sustainability and long-term vision, laying the foundation for a self-reliant India.

According to a Press Information Bureau Research brief, the Pragati platform launched in March 2015 to fast-track project implementation has reviewed over 363 infrastructure projects across 47 meetings, enabling direct engagement between the Prime Minister, central secretaries and state chief secretaries via video conference.
