Persistent Activism Stalls Real Estate Sector Growth, Claims Credai

Date:

Credai, the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India, has raised concerns over the growing impact of persistent activism on the real estate sector. According to the industry body, continuous protests and legal challenges are significantly hindering the growth and development of the real estate market, which is one of the key drivers of India’s economy.

The sector has faced increased delays in project approvals, construction timelines, and legal battles, which in turn are affecting investments and pushing up costs. Credai argues that while activism plays an important role in ensuring accountability and addressing genuine concerns, its unchecked impact is creating an environment of uncertainty for developers, investors, and consumers alike.

The association has urged the government to streamline processes and ensure that activism does not disrupt the smooth functioning of the real estate sector. In particular, Credai emphasizes the need for clearer regulations and more collaborative dialogue between developers, activists, and policymakers to strike a balance between progress and activism.

As India’s real estate sector continues to be a crucial part of its economic development, it is essential to create an environment where responsible activism can coexist with growth and development, ensuring that the sector thrives without compromising its core values of sustainability and affordability.
