PE Investments in Indian Real Estate Rise 6% to $2.82 Billion in April-December 2024: Anarock

Date:

Private equity (PE) investments in Indian real estate recorded a 6% year-on-year growth, reaching $2.82 billion during April-December 2024, according to a report by Anarock. This rise highlights growing investor confidence in India’s property market, driven by a robust demand for housing, commercial spaces, and industrial infrastructure.

The residential sector emerged as a key contributor, attracting significant PE funding amid a resurgence in housing demand post-pandemic. Commercial real estate, particularly office spaces, continued to draw substantial interest, fueled by the recovery in the work-from-office model and a rise in leasing activities. Additionally, industrial and warehousing segments remained attractive investment avenues, driven by the rapid expansion of e-commerce and logistics.

“The sustained growth in PE investments underscores the resilience and long-term potential of India’s real estate market. Global investors are recognizing the opportunity to capitalize on the growing economy and urbanization trends,” said a senior Anarock analyst.

The report also highlighted the increasing role of foreign investors, with many institutional players expanding their portfolios in India. As the sector aligns with sustainability and technology-driven solutions, experts expect further growth in PE inflows in 2025.
