On July 18, 2025, NABARD approved loans totaling ₹4,613 crore under its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to support 485 projects across Arunachal Pradesh. The funding aims to enhance rural connectivity, improve irrigation facilities and promote livelihood opportunities throughout the state. NABARD GM Damodar Mishra emphasized the organisation’s strong commitment to inclusive growth, noting that the bank is also actively advancing rural credit planning, digitising PACS, fostering micro-enterprises and encouraging climate-resilient farming. The announcement coincided with NABARD’s 44th Foundation Day celebrations and the UN-declared International Year of Cooperatives, featuring a “Cooperatives Build a Better World” event in Itanagar.
Attended by officials from RBI, SIDBI, NCDC, Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank and university and state representatives, the gathering highlighted the importance of cooperative-led development. State Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised NABARD’s role in driving regional infrastructure and innovation. A booklet titled NABARD in Arunachal Pradesh was released to commemorate these achievements.
