Mumbai is poised for a historic transformation in urban transport. By the end of 2025, at least four new Metro corridors are expected to become operational, easing congestion and redefining city travel. Alongside these new lines, the upcoming all‑in‑one ‘Mumbai One’ transport app promises to integrate metros, buses, taxis and e‑bikes into a unified digital platform, making commuting seamless and accessible.
At the heart of the expansion is the Mandale depot in Mumbai’s eastern suburbs, which will serve as a major maintenance hub supporting the rapidly growing Metro fleet. These developments align with broader investments by the MMRDA totalling ₹12,000 crore, funding metro estates, stations and last‑mile integration under major contracts for Lines 4, 4A, 6 and more .
The upgrades are part of Mumbai’s vision of “Mumbai in Minutes”, where any two points in the metro region can be reached in under an hour. Together, the enhanced metro network and digital transport ecosystem aim to transform daily travel; making it faster, greener and far more commuter‑friendly.
