In a major move to enhance homebuyer confidence, MahaRERA has introduced a series of strong regulatory measures in 2025, aimed at tightening compliance and protecting consumer interests in Maharashtra’s real estate market.
The regulator has stepped up enforcement by suspending non-compliant projects, particularly those that fail to meet construction timelines or disclosure norms. Developers found violating rules now face stricter scrutiny, signalling a zero-tolerance approach toward delays and misleading practices.
MahaRERA has also imposed curbs on real estate advertising, ensuring that promotional material strictly matches approved plans and registered project details. This move is expected to curb false claims and prevent buyers from being misled by exaggerated marketing.
Another significant relief for buyers comes in the form of clear parking norms, where the regulator has reinforced that parking spaces cannot be sold separately unless explicitly permitted. This clarification addresses one of the most common disputes between developers and homebuyers.
Industry experts say these reforms mark a decisive shift toward accountability and transparency. By tightening oversight on project execution, advertising, and pricing practices, MahaRERA is reinforcing trust in the housing market.
As Maharashtra continues to see strong housing demand, the 2025 measures are expected to create a fairer, more buyer-friendly real estate ecosystem—strengthening long-term market stability and consumer confidence.
