Maharashtra has outlined an ambitious infrastructure roadmap aimed at transforming regional connectivity and accelerating economic growth, with key projects including the Mumbai–Hyderabad Expressway, large-scale metro network expansion, and the development of a new business district named ‘Navin Nagpur’.
The proposed Mumbai–Hyderabad Expressway is expected to significantly cut travel time between the two major cities, strengthening trade, logistics, and inter-state connectivity. Once completed, the corridor is likely to open up new growth zones, boost industrial activity, and drive real estate development along its route.
At the same time, the state is accelerating the expansion of metro networks in cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Nashik to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion. These metro projects are designed to support Maharashtra’s rapidly growing urban population with cleaner, faster, and more reliable public transport systems.
A key highlight of the plan is Navin Nagpur, envisioned as a modern business and commercial district with integrated infrastructure, smart planning, and employment-focused development. The project aims to position Nagpur as a major economic hub in central India.
Together, these initiatives reflect Maharashtra’s long-term vision to build future-ready infrastructure, enhance competitiveness, and sustain economic growth across regions.
