L&T Secures Major Power Grid Orders Worth ₹2,500–5,000 Crore

Date:

Engineering and construction giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that it has bagged multiple large orders in the power grid infrastructure segment, with a combined value estimated between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore. The contracts, won by its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business, underscore L&T’s strong execution capabilities and leadership in the sector.

The orders include projects for setting up extra-high voltage transmission lines and substations across key regions, aimed at strengthening India’s power grid and ensuring reliable electricity supply to both urban and rural consumers. Some contracts also involve advanced automation and digital monitoring systems, reflecting the shift towards smarter, technology-driven infrastructure.

Executives at L&T highlighted that the new orders align with India’s broader push to modernize its power sector, integrate renewable energy, and improve transmission efficiency. With the country’s energy demand continuing to rise, such grid-strengthening projects are critical for balancing supply and meeting sustainability goals.

Analysts say these wins further solidify L&T’s order book and provide strong revenue visibility in the coming quarters. As India transitions towards a greener energy mix, L&T’s expertise positions it as a key enabler of the nation’s power infrastructure growth.
