Logistics Warehouse Construction Project for Fruit Storage Begins in Ala‑Buka

Date:

Construction has commenced on a new logistics warehouse for fruit storage in Ala‑Buka district, marking a milestone in Kyrgyzstan’s agribusiness modernization. Backed by state funding and executed by a private entrepreneur, the facility represents an investment of 9 million som and is designed to handle up to 400 tonnes of produce.

Located adjacent to the local railway line, the project leverages existing state‑owned land to avoid delays linked to land acquisition. Once completed ahead of the 2025 harvest season, the temperature‑controlled warehouse will enable farmers to store cherries, apples and plums under optimal conditions, significantly reducing post‑harvest losses. Reliable storage is expected to open new market opportunities and improve farm profitability, while also stabilizing retail prices for consumers.

Government officials emphasize that the logistics warehouse construction supports broader rural development goals and public‑private partnerships. The project aligns with national strategies to modernize supply chains, bolster export potential and enhance food security. Site preparation is under way, with civil works for reinforced concrete foundations and structural framing set to begin next month. Completion is slated for early 2026, after which the facility will be integrated into a network of regional storage complexes aimed at strengthening Kyrgyzstan’s agricultural value chain.
