Kaya AI Brings Ex-Amazon Rufus Leader on Board to Build Advanced Construction AI Platform

Date:

Kaya AI is accelerating its push to modernise the construction industry with advanced artificial intelligence by bringing in top talent from the tech world. The company has appointed Mukesh Jain — who previously led the development of Amazon’s AI assistant Rufus — as its Chief Technology Officer. His entry signals a strong shift toward building deep-tech solutions for one of the world’s most operationally complex and under-digitised sectors.

Jain will oversee the development of Amber, Kaya AI’s specialised “AI knowledge worker” built to understand construction-specific documents such as drawings, specifications, RFIs, supplier quotes, and schedules. Amber is designed to convert this fragmented information into actionable insights, enabling teams to plan, coordinate, and execute projects more efficiently.

Kaya AI is also rolling out a Mission-Critical Procurement Planner, powered by a construction-trained language model. This tool aims to tackle chronic procurement delays by linking design requirements with supplier availability, logistics timelines, and installation needs — a major factor behind cost overruns in construction.

The company’s solutions are already being tested by leading contractors, including Suffolk, Haskell, and ARCO Murray. With its new leadership and expanding product suite, Kaya AI aims to redefine how mission-critical construction projects are planned and delivered.
