Indore Water Supply Project Gets ₹800-Crore Boost Under AMRUT 2.0 Scheme

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for an ₹800-crore water supply project in Indore on January 14, 2026, at the Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium. The project is part of the AMRUT 2.0 Indore Water Supply Scheme and aims to ensure clean and reliable drinking water for the city’s growing population.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Yadav highlighted the state government’s commitment to providing clean water to every village and city under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indore is steadily moving towards self-reliance and long-term water security.

Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat said the project reflects Prime Minister Modi’s vision and the state government’s focus on strengthening basic infrastructure. Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav thanked the Chief Minister for addressing the city’s future water needs and announced that the project’s scope has been expanded to ₹2,400 crore.

The project includes modern water treatment facilities and power substations, ensuring uninterrupted water supply for decades to come.
