n a significant move towards modernization, India’s construction industry is increasingly adopting Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. This digital transformation encompasses the integration of advanced technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), drone technology, cyber-physical systems, and prefabrication methods.
A recent report by PwC highlights that the construction sector contributed approximately 8% to India’s GDP in FY2019, employing around 50 million people. Projections indicate that by FY2040, the sector’s contribution could rise to 14% of GDP, with employment surpassing 66 million. To achieve these targets, the industry is focusing on digital interventions to improve efficiency and productivity.
