India Poised to Shape Global AI Infrastructure Standards: Tata Communications Executive

Date:

India is emerging as a powerful contender in shaping global standards for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, according to Neelakantan Venkataraman, Senior Vice President at Tata Communications. Speaking at a recent industry forum, he highlighted that India already possesses the fundamental building blocks required to influence the next wave of global AI frameworks.

Venkataraman pointed out that India’s rapid strides in digital transformation, supported by a large pool of skilled engineers and robust cloud ecosystems, position the country uniquely in the worldwide AI race. He emphasized that India’s combination of scale, talent, and technological adaptability gives it the capability to not just adopt AI innovations but also define how they are deployed securely and responsibly.

He also noted that enterprises across India are increasingly investing in AI-driven solutions, creating an urgent need for resilient and scalable digital infrastructure. Tata Communications, he added, is aggressively expanding its network capabilities to support this demand and enable seamless AI integration across sectors like healthcare, finance, logistics, and manufacturing.

Venkataraman believes India can evolve from being a technology consumer to becoming a global architect of AI standards—setting benchmarks for security, ethics, and performance as organizations worldwide transition into an AI-first future.
