The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has entered into a preliminary memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to collaborate on infrastructure development projects worth ₹5,000 crore.
The MoU focuses on exploring avenues of cooperation in financing, refinancing, and developing both existing and upcoming port infrastructure at JN Port, one of India’s busiest maritime gateways. This nonbinding agreement signifies a strategic partnership aimed at boosting port-led growth and improving logistics efficiency in the region.
The MoU was formally signed by Sanjay Kulshrestha, Chairman and Managing Director of HUDCO, and Unmesh Sharad Wagh, Chairman of JNPA. The collaboration aligns with HUDCO’s broader mission to extend financial support for critical infrastructure projects that contribute to national economic development.
By combining HUDCO’s financial expertise with JNPA’s operational strength, the partnership is expected to accelerate modernization, capacity enhancement, and sustainability initiatives across the port. This move also underscores India’s continued focus on expanding maritime and logistics infrastructure to strengthen global trade connectivity and economic competitiveness.
