Date:

Houzz Inc. today unveiled its 2025 State of AI in Construction and Design report, drawing insights from over 700 industry professionals. The survey highlights widespread AI awareness, emerging adoption trends and strong demand for industry‑specific tools and training.

According to the report, 34 percent of firms integrate AI into workflows, saving more than three hours per week—equivalent to annual productivity gains of about $108,000 per firm. Sixty‑six percent of respondents anticipate that AI will revolutionize construction and design within five years.

Awareness remains high: 69 percent of professionals report solid familiarity with AI, 23 percent moderate exposure and 8 percent no engagement. More than half (59 percent) know of AI solutions for planning, design and project management. Key applications cited include automated drafting, cost estimation and risk analysis.

Adoption rates vary: 32 percent of construction companies and 31 percent of design firms use AI, rising to over 50 percent among larger organizations. The technology is primarily used for administrative tasks (62 percent), sales and marketing (55 percent), planning and design (42 percent) and project management (33 percent). Despite positive feedback from 71 percent of users, the lack of formal AI training for 94 percent of designers and 92 percent of contractors underscores a need for accessible educational initiatives.
