Houzz Releases First AI in Construction and Design Report, Shows Rapid Adoption and Gains

Date:

Houzz, a leading home renovation and design platform, has released the inaugural 2025 U.S. State of AI in Construction and Design Report, based on a survey of over 700 professionals in May 2025.

Key findings highlight that 69% of construction and design professionals are familiar with AI, while only 8% have had no exposure. Adoption is gaining momentum—34% are already using AI, with significantly higher usage among firms with more than 10 employees. In construction, AI adoption jumps from 32% to 64% in larger firms; in design, from 31% to 50%.

AI users report saving over three hours per week on average, equating to annual productivity gains of around ₹90 lakh. Construction professionals saw an average gain of ₹1.4 crore, while designers reported ₹60 lakh in efficiency gains.

Common use cases include administrative tasks, sales and marketing, planning and design, and project or client management.

Despite 71% user satisfaction and notable workflow impact, over 90% of respondents had no formal training. Concerns remain around data privacy and accuracy.

With 66% believing AI will transform the industry in five years, Houzz emphasized the need for seamless AI integration into daily project workflows.
