HD Hyundai to Merge Equipment Units, Creating South Korea’s Largest Machinery Firm

Date:

HD Hyundai has announced a major consolidation move in its construction equipment business, merging two of its key subsidiaries to form South Korea’s largest machinery company. The merger, involving Hyundai Genuine and Hyundai Doosan Infracore, is aimed at strengthening competitiveness in the global heavy equipment market.

The unified entity will bring together Hyundai’s engineering expertise, Doosan’s international footprint, and expanded R&D capabilities, positioning the firm as a stronger challenger to global leaders in the sector. Company executives said the merger is expected to deliver significant synergies in production, distribution, and after-sales services while streamlining operations to reduce costs.

Analysts note that demand for construction equipment is surging worldwide, driven by infrastructure investment, urban development, and the shift toward eco-friendly machinery. With the merger, HD Hyundai plans to accelerate innovation in smart machinery and green technologies, including electric and hydrogen-powered equipment.

Industry observers believe the move will not only enhance South Korea’s presence in the global machinery landscape but also help the company secure a competitive edge in high-growth markets across Asia, North America, and Europe. Once completed, the merger could redefine HD Hyundai’s role as a powerhouse in the construction equipment industry.
