Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has launched the Pradeshik Sadak Utthan Pariyojna, a major road upgradation project that will repair and improve 4,227 roads covering 9,410 km across the state. The work will cost Rs 4,827 crore in the current financial year.
Calling it a “golden chapter” in Haryana’s infrastructure growth, CM Saini said the project will help bridge rural-urban connectivity gaps and speed up both economic and social development. The government has already started repair work on 410 roads, marking the first step of this large-scale plan.
Over the past 11 years, Haryana has repaired and improved 43,703 km of roads and built 2,417 km of new roads. The state has also made strong progress in railway overbridges and national highway expansion. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, another 2,432 km of rural roads have been constructed at a cost of Rs 1,077 crore.
The new initiative is expected to lower transport costs, cut pollution, save fuel, and give a big boost to industry and agriculture. Roads under agencies like PWD, HSVP, and HSIIDC will all be upgraded to meet rising infrastructure needs.
