The Government of Gujarat has unveiled a ₹4.08 lakh crore budget, placing strong emphasis on tourism development, artificial intelligence (AI), and sports infrastructure, signalling a multi-pronged growth strategy for the state.
A significant portion of the allocation is aimed at strengthening Gujarat’s tourism ecosystem through improved connectivity, heritage conservation, coastal development, and hospitality infrastructure. Officials said the focus will be on enhancing visitor experience while promoting the state as a global tourism destination.
The budget also highlights Gujarat’s ambition to emerge as a key hub in the AI and digital innovation ecosystem. Investments are expected in AI research centres, digital infrastructure, skilling initiatives, and partnerships with industry and academic institutions. The move aligns with broader efforts to integrate advanced technologies into governance, manufacturing, and public services.
Sports infrastructure has been earmarked for substantial funding, with plans to develop stadiums, training academies, and grassroots facilities to promote athletic talent and host national and international events. This push aims to position Gujarat as a prominent sporting destination while encouraging youth participation.
Industry observers note that the budget reflects a balanced approach—combining physical infrastructure with digital and social investments. With tourism, AI, and sports identified as growth pillars, Gujarat’s ₹4.08 lakh crore outlay sets the stage for diversified and future-oriented economic expansion.
