Eco Materials Launches First Low-Carbon Cement Plant in Pacific Northwest

Date:

Eco Material Technologies has inaugurated its first sustainably-built manufacturing hub in the Pacific Northwest: the Lakeview Plant in southern Oregon. Strategically located adjacent to Lake County’s freight rail line, the facility is equipped to produce up to 300,000 tons annually of low-carbon cement alternatives, helping slash the carbon footprint of concrete by up to 80% compared to traditional Portland cement.

This new facility is expected to create 30 permanent jobs—spanning skilled manufacturing and logistics positions—in a historically underserved region. Notably, approximately 75% of shipments are planned to be distributed via existing rail infrastructure, further enhancing the operation’s sustainability and efficiency.

“This opening underscores our commitment to sustainable innovation and expands access to domestically produced, low‑carbon cement alternatives,” said Eco Material CEO Grant Quasha. Lake County Commissioner Mark Albertson added that the plant represents “a powerful investment” merging green materials with local economic growth.

The Lakeview Plant complements Eco Material’s national expansion efforts, including the recently opened fly ash terminal in Queens, New York. With the addition of this Pacific Northwest hub, the company is on track to supply over 10 million tons of environmentally beneficial materials annually across North America.
