Eastern India Power Boost: Sugs Lloyd to Build 5 Substations, 33 kV Line

Engineering‑procurement‑construction firm Sugs Lloyd has clinched two major EPC contracts totalling ₹74.35 crore in eastern India. The deals awarded by North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (NBPDCL) and Tata Power subsidiaries, focus on bolstering regional power infrastructure in Bihar and Odisha. Under the NBPDCL mandate, Sugs Lloyd will construct five new substations, along with associated high‑tension and low‑tension transmission lines in Kishanganj district. A significant component of the project is the installation of a new 33 kV line to enhance network resilience. Meanwhile, in Odisha, contracts encompass connections, network augmentation, and modernization of infrastructure at multiple voltage levels.

Emerging as the lowest bidder, Sugs Lloyd’s competitive pricing and proven execution capabilities secured these wins, further expanding its Eastern India footprint. The contracts not only add heft to the company’s EPC portfolio but also support its strategic growth ambitions—backed by an upcoming IPO.

These projects mark a key investment in grid modernization, promising improved electricity reliability for rural and urban consumers, and enhancing Sugs Lloyd’s positioning in India’s dynamic power infrastructure sector.
