The East Central Railway has called for bids to construct two new road over bridges (ROBs) in Bihar, aimed at replacing existing level crossings and enhancing transport safety. The initiative is expected to improve efficiency by reducing delays caused by frequent train movements in the region.
The scope of the project covers the replacement of level crossing no. 33A at km 186/32-34 between Adapur and Raxaul in the Sitamarhi–Raxaul section. Additionally, level crossing no. 34A at km 187/38A-40A between Raxaul and Bhelwa in the Narkatiaganj–Raxaul section, both under the Samastipur Division, will be replaced with modern bridges. These ROBs are designed to provide smoother road connectivity and eliminate traffic congestion at busy rail crossings.
The tender specifies that the construction work must be completed within 24 months from the date of award. This timeline reflects the urgency of delivering safer infrastructure to support growing passenger and freight traffic in the state.
The deadline for submission of bids has been fixed for 9 October 2025. Officials said the project will play a vital role in strengthening Bihar’s connectivity and supporting economic growth in the region.
