Delhi Logistics Park Project Unveiled to Strengthen Warehousing Capacity

Date:

The Delhi government has unveiled a landmark project to develop three integrated logistics parks featuring state-of-the-art warehousing, distribution centres and multimodal facilities. Industry and Food & Supplies Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced at the ET Edge Supply Chain Management Fest 2025 that these hubs will significantly boost the city’s role in the national supply chain, increasing its current 16 percent share of India’s warehousing market and streamlining cargo movement through key industrial corridors.

National data show that India’s Industrial & Logistics sector recorded a 57 percent year-on-year surge in new supply in Q1 2025, adding 12.4 million sq ft of Grade A warehousing space across major hubs including Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. Leasing activity also grew by approximately 40 percent, driven by strong demand from e-commerce and third-party logistics providers, underscoring the need for modern, scalable warehouse assets.

Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO for India, South-East Asia, Middle East & Africa at CBRE, said the surge in supply and leasing volumes “underscores India’s emergence as a regional logistics powerhouse, poised to meet future demand across sectors.”

The integrated parks will feature temperature-controlled units, automated storage and retrieval systems, and dedicated truck parking and repair zones. Work is expected to begin in the second half of 2025, with the first phase due for completion by mid-2027. This strategic investment aims to reduce turnaround times, lower logistics costs and support Delhi’s ambition to become a major national distribution hub.
