Cisco Powers Secure Infrastructure for the AI Era with Next‑Gen Networks & Zero‑Trust Security

Date:

At Cisco Live on June 10, 2025, Cisco unveiled a sweeping initiative aimed at powering the AI era by delivering secure, scalable, and AI-optimized infrastructure across data centers and workplaces. Highlights include:

  • AI-ready data centers: Cisco is deploying expanded AI PODs and the Unified Nexus Dashboard—featuring NVIDIA Spectrum‑X on Cisco Silicon One—to streamline AI workload deployments from hyperscalers to enterprises.

  • AgenticOps & unified management: AI-driven automation (AgenticOps) and a Deep Network Model (domain-specific LLM) allow proactive, real-time IT operations across networks and devices.

  • Zero‑trust security built-in: Cisco introduced next-gen Hybrid Mesh Firewalls and Universal ZTNA, embedding security at every layer—from silicon to AI agents—with advanced threat detection through Secure Access Cloud Control and tighter Splunk integration.

Jeetu Patel, Cisco’s President & CPO, affirmed that AI workloads demand high-bandwidth, low-latency, and resilient networks as foundational infrastructure for autonomous AI agents. Early financial indicators support the strategy: Cisco topped its $1 billion AI infrastructure orders target a quarter early in Q3 FY25. With analysts viewing the company as a “hidden sovereign AI play” delivering robust growth via secure infrastructure partnerships, Cisco is defining how enterprises can adopt AI confidently and responsibly across both data centers and future workplaces.
