In a major boost to Bihar’s infrastructure, the central government has approved ten new road projects with a total outlay of Rs 675 crore. These projects, spanning eight districts including Buxar, Saran and Bhagalpur, are set to significantly improve connectivity, particularly in remote areas. The state’s road construction department minister, Nitin Nabin, announced the clearance, which followed a meeting with Union minister Nitin Gadkari.
The initiatives, to be implemented under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme, aim to reduce travel time and enhance the overall road network. The state government has set a two-year deadline for the completion of these projects and has instructed officials to expedite the tendering process. Key works include the construction of a 30km road in Araria and the widening and strengthening of existing roads across the districts, promising a major upgrade to the state’s transportation infrastructure.
