Attentive.ai Raises $30.5 Million to Transform Construction Takeoffs with AI

Date:

Attentive.ai, a San Francisco-based construction technology startup, has secured $30.5 million in Series B funding to accelerate the automation of construction takeoffs using artificial intelligence. The round was led by Insight Partners, with participation from Vertex Ventures, Tenacity Ventures and InfoEdge Venture Fund.

The company’s flagship platform, Beam AI, automates quantity takeoffs across major construction trades—dramatically reducing manual workload and improving bidding accuracy. Attentive.ai has already onboarded more than 1,100 contractors and suppliers, highlighting rapid adoption as the construction industry shifts toward digitised pre-construction workflows.

According to CEO and co-founder Shiva Dhawan, the construction sector still relies heavily on spreadsheets and manual takeoff processes, which slow down bidding and create avoidable bottlenecks. With the new investment, the company aims to enhance its AI models, expand into end-to-end estimating and bidding solutions, and strengthen its international presence.

Beam AI enables contractors to complete takeoffs up to 90% faster, supported by human-in-the-loop quality checks to ensure field-ready accuracy for pricing and quotes. As global construction activity rises—particularly in infrastructure, industrial facilities and data centres—the funding underscores growing confidence in AI-driven tools that promise speed, precision, and efficiency in pre-construction planning.
