The Managing Director of Noida’s power distribution company (Discom) has called for regular meetings with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to strengthen the city’s power infrastructure and improve service delivery. The MD emphasised that continuous dialogue between residents and the utility provider is essential to identify local issues early and enhance overall reliability of electricity supply.
During a recent review meeting, the Discom MD noted that RWAs play a crucial role in communicating on-ground challenges such as overloads, transformer faults, power quality concerns, and supply-demand imbalances. Regular interactions, he said, will allow the utility to plan upgrades more efficiently and deploy resources in a timely manner.
He also urged RWAs to support awareness initiatives around load management, energy conservation, and the adoption of rooftop solar systems to reduce strain on the grid. With Noida witnessing rapid urban expansion and rising residential demand, strengthening collaboration between citizens and the utility provider is becoming increasingly important.
Officials added that the Discom is already working on several infrastructure enhancements, including upgrading old cables, boosting transformer capacity, and expanding smart metering coverage. The MD reiterated that resident feedback will remain central to ensuring a stable, safe, and responsive power network across Noida.
