Winvic Construction has commenced work on Unit S915, the largest ever speculative logistics facility developed by Panattoni, located at Panattoni Park, Swindon.
This milestone marks the second phase of redevelopment of the 370-acre former Honda manufacturing site, transforming it into one of the UK’s most advanced logistics hubs. The massive 915,000 sq. ft. facility will include a single-storey warehouse, two-storey main and transport offices, an external two-storey entrance tower and bridge, a gatehouse, and an internal plant deck. It will feature a clear haunch height of 21 metres, with provisions for future vehicle maintenance and operations.
The construction scope also encompasses infrastructure, service yards, access roads, car parks, landscaping, drainage, and utilities installation. Designed with sustainability as a core focus, the building will achieve BREEAM “Excellent” and EPC “A” ratings, targeting Net Zero Carbon in Construction.
Phase one of the site redevelopment involved demolition of 15 structures, extensive earthworks, and ecological and archaeological preservation measures. Winvic’s Managing Director, Danny Nelson, stated that the project reflects confidence in Winvic’s ability to deliver large-scale, sustainable industrial facilities while maintaining high environmental and operational standards.
