Additional Measures:
To accommodate the surge in pilgrims, the Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) has been closed to Delhi-bound light vehicles from July 19 to July 24. Heavy vehicles were banned earlier, starting July 11. Authorities have increased the frequency of Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) trains to every 10 minutes during peak hours to provide an alternative mode of transport for commuters.
Commuters are urged to plan their journeys in advance, stay updated with real-time traffic information and cooperate with authorities to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience during this period.
