Ahmedabad: On July 9, 2025, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) inaugurated the New Sanjali private cargo terminal on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), marking a significant milestone in logistics, warehouse construction, and multimodal connectivity in Gujarat. Spread across 120 acres on the New Sanjali–Panoli section, the terminal is strategically positioned to serve key industrial hubs such as Panoli GIDC, Ankleshwar, and Jhagadia, as well as major ports at Dahej, Hazira, and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust.
The facility’s construction features two dedicated rail lines for container and steel cargo handling, an electrified bulk-cargo line to support Truck-on-Train services, and dual receipt and dispatch loops integrated with DFCCIL and Indian Railways. Robust road access via National Highways 48 and 4 further enhances freight movement efficiency. With the proposed Multi-Modal Logistics Park just six kilometres away, New Sanjali is poised to become a linchpin in shifting freight traffic from road to rail, reducing congestion and cutting logistics costs.
DFCCIL’s managing director highlighted that this logistics and warehouse construction project underlines the government’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure development. Industry stakeholders anticipate that the terminal will boost regional manufacturing competitiveness, streamline supply chains, and drive economic growth across western India.
