Shaping the Golden Age : Projects That Are Changing India

Date:

As we move ahead in 2025, India’s infrastructure growth continues at full speed. The 133 km Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (CPRR), led by TNRIDC and the Tamil Nadu Highways Department under Thiru S. A. Raman, is being built by contractors like L&T and SPK Ltd, with support from JICA, AIIB and OPEC. It aims to ease traffic and connect key highways around Chennai.

In central India, the 464 km Raipur–Visakhapatnam Expressway, under Bharatmala Pariyojana, is being developed by NHAI using the hybrid-annuity model. Key players include HG Infra Engineering (OD-5 and OD-6), Adani Transport, Dilip Buildcon and KMV Projects.

But it’s not just roads; India’s railway sector is also witnessing rapid modernization. The country is moving forward with bold steps like high-speed rail corridors, station redevelopment and 100% electrification of major routes. A major highlight is the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project, India’s first high-speed rail line, executed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL). This project, using Japanese Shinkansen technology, represents a leap in transport efficiency and speed. It will cover over 500 km in just about two hours, connecting key financial and industrial hubs in record time.

Together, these projects reflect the true spirit of India’s golden age of infrastructure. With strong leadership, global partnerships and committed private sector involvement, the country is laying the foundation for an advanced, sustainable future.
