HD Construction Equipment Takes Lead in India’s Excavator Market with Strong Market Share

Date:

HD Construction Equipment has emerged as a leading player in India’s excavator segment, capturing a significant share of the market amid rising demand for construction and infrastructure equipment. Industry data indicates that the company secured around 22% market share in the mid-sized excavator category (8–50 tonnes), reclaiming the top position in the segment.

The company’s growth is attributed to its integrated strategy following the merger of its brands, allowing it to leverage combined product portfolios and expanded sales networks. This “one company, two brands” approach has improved responsiveness to market demand and strengthened its competitive positioning.

India’s excavator market continues to be driven by large-scale infrastructure projects, including highways, railways, mining, and urban development. Analysts note that strong demand for earthmoving equipment, along with improved financing and dealer support, has supported the company’s rise in market share.

HD Construction Equipment has also focused on enhancing after-sales services, expanding its dealer network, and improving product offerings to cater to diverse project requirements. The company remains in close competition with global players such as Hitachi, highlighting the dynamic nature of the Indian construction equipment market.

The outlook for the sector remains positive, supported by ongoing infrastructure investments and urbanisation.
