PermitFlow, an AI-powered construction management platform, has raised $54 million in its latest Series B funding round led by Accel, with participation from major investors including Kleiner Perkins, Felicis, Initialized Capital, Altos Ventures, and Y Combinator.
Founded in 2021 by Francis Thumpasery (CEO) and Samuel Lam (CTO), PermitFlow uses advanced AI models and a proprietary dataset of more than 12 million municipal permitting records to automate complex pre-construction processes. The platform supports builders across the United States by managing permitting, licensing, and inspection workflows—traditionally known to be slow, manual, and prone to errors.
PermitFlow reports that its solution has already powered over $20 billion worth of construction projects nationwide. Users have experienced up to a 60% reduction in pre-construction timelines, up to 90% less administrative workload, and a five-times return on investment due to increased speed and efficiency.
With the new capital infusion, the company plans to expand its suite of AI agents focused on permitting, inspections, and compliance management. It will also recruit additional talent to meet the rising demand from residential, commercial, and industrial builders.
As infrastructure and housing needs accelerate across the country, PermitFlow’s rapid growth highlights the increasing adoption of AI-driven tools designed to modernize construction and reduce regulatory bottlenecks.
