Singapore is currently evaluating SafeSite VA, an artificial intelligence-driven surveillance platform, across 14 government-managed construction locations since late 2025, with assessments planned through June.
The technology recognizes safety breaches such as workers lacking proper protective wear or accessing prohibited zones, immediately notifying supervisors through Telegram to enable action within 15 seconds. This instant monitoring system seeks to improve jobsite safety via rapid response.
While visiting Pasir Ris Coast Industrial Park, Manpower Minister of State Dinesh Vasu Dash noted Singapore’s enhanced workplace safety performance. The nation’s occupational fatality rate declined to 0.96 per 100,000 employees in 2025—the best figure since 2020—recording 36 deaths. Vehicle-related accidents continued as the predominant cause of work-related fatalities in 2024.
The Pasir Ris Coast location features 31 surveillance cameras, with 10 incorporating AI analysis technology, intended to encourage improved safety behaviors through constant real-time observation.
The Ministry of Manpower will publish detailed safety data in March, offering additional perspective on workplace safety developments and how technological solutions are performing in minimizing construction site incidents.
